Maps and Driving Directions

Taxi Directions to Events: Taxis can come the back way through campus, but there is a lot of construction right now and many of those routes are closed off. Door to door is not really possible. If you are taking a taxi, it is best to get dropped off at 37th and 'O' for both days. The buildings will both be right in front of you when you walk through the gate. Healy - in front of you on your left and Copley - in front of you on your right. Any other option will be complicated by which streets are closed that day because of construction.

Metro Directions: The best access to Georgetown University via metro is Rosslyn Station on the Washington DC metro's orange/blue line or Dupont Circle Station on the Washington DC metro's red line. From either of those metro stops, a Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) bus can be taken to main campus.

Parking at GU:Street parking around Georgetown University is limited and strictly monitored, with spots available for two hours unless you have a Zone 2 residential permit issued by the District of Columbia. A limited number of metered spaces are available on Reservoir Road, 37th Street, and Prospect Street.

A limited number of daily parking spaces are available in the Southwest Garage and can be reached by entering campus from Canal Road, via M Street:

Options for Accomodations
We have two options for hotels. The Georgetown Inn is located in Georgetown on Wisconin Ave. It is a very nice hotel that is surrounded by shops and restaurants. You can walk from the hotel to the different workshop events. It is about a 10 minute walk. We also have accomodation options at the Georgetown Conference Center located on Georgetown's campus. This hotel is attached to the student union. It is very convenient for getting to the different workshop events.

Making Reservations
In order to avoid submitting receipts, we have a block reservation for both of these hotels. You can make a reservation online or by calling the hotel and letting them know that you are attending the BDSI-2015 workshop. Or, if you prefer, you can send an email to Sheilynn Brown (svb38@georgetown.edu) at Georgetown University with your name and hotel preference. She will make the reservation for you and then email you a confirmation.
