Overview
Welcome to the 2016 NSF BigData PI Meeting (BDPI-2016) website. The PI meeting
will be held on April 20th-21st in Arlington, VA.
Objective
The growth in scale, diversity, and complexity of data has increased the
demand for understanding large amounts of heterogeneous data. This presents
new challenges to the way data and information are used and managed.
The goal of the two-day workshop is to bring together PIs and co-PIs currently funded by the Big Data program at NSF along with selected industry and government invitees to discuss current research, identify current challenges, and discuss promising future directions. The meeting will also serve as an opportunity to foster new collaborations and share accomplishments. The program will include speakers discussing emerging areas in Big Data research, funding panels, breakout discussions, and a poster/demo session. There will also be a reception with opportunites to discuss and debate solutions to some of the largest big data research and education challenges.
Dates and Location
BDPI-2016 will take place from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on April 20th (followed by a reception)
and from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM on April, 21st
at Renaissance Arlington Capital View in Arlington,
VA. Meeting check-in/registration will take place from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM on April 20th.
