How to I get to the different venues
There is a map posted under the Maps & Hotels link above. There you will find directions to the different buildings, parking information, and a map of the campus. If you need general directions for getting to Georgetown, click here.
Will BDSI-2015 be webcast?
Yes, the plenary session in the morning and the break out reports will be webcast. The break out sessions will not be. The link for the webcast will be posted on Friday.
Can I book my airfare?
Yes, please go ahead and make your travel arrangements. If your airfare is going to cost more than $500 from the east coast or more than $1000 from other parts of the country, we ask that you setup your travel using SHORTS Travel. You can reach them at 877-277-5568. Let them know that you are attending the BDSI workshop.
When do I submit receipts?
If you incur any allowable expenses while attending the workshop you will be reimbursed for these expenses. Allowable expenses include taxi fares, meals, parking and travel expenses that were not prepaid by NSF. You may include a maximum of $23 per day for food since most of the meals were covered by the workshop.
In order to receive your reimbursement you need to complete the attached reimbursement form and submit all original receipts to Sheilynn Brown, Georgetown University, 3700 Reservoir Road, 335 St. Mary's Hall, Washington, DC 20057. Copies of receipts will not be accepted for reimbursement. We will only accept receipts for 30 days after the workshop.
Due to the volume of participants requesting reimbursements it will take 6-8 weeks for you to receive you funds. Please be sure to include the address you would like your check to be forwarded to. If you have any questions please contact Sheilynn Brown at 202-687-1793 or svb38@georgetown.edu .
What time will the workshop end on Friday? We will be done by 5:00.
What is the closest airport to fly into?
Reagan National Airport. The hotel is about 45 minutes from Dulles International or Baltimore Washington International.
Do I have to use one of the designated hotel rooms
We prefer that you stay at either the Georgetown Inn in Georgetown or the Georgetown Conference Center on campus because we have special rate agreements with both of them. If you need to stay elsewhere, please email Lisa Singh with the information.
The Georgetown Inn is a smaller boutique hotel that is a few blocks walk from campus. I (Lisa) think it is the nicer of the two hotels, plus it has easy access to shops and restaurants in Georgetown. The other hotel is on campus, so it is more convenient for getting to events.
Does the hotel have Internet access in the guest rooms?
Yes. There is complimentary Internet access in each guest room.
