Travel Support

We anticipate to offer travel support to 35 junior faculty from HBCU/MEI institutions, and if additional funds are available, we will consider faculty from other under-represented groups. This fellowship will be used to cover their travel expenses. The selection process will be first-come-first-serve with preferences given to those from HBCU/MEI and each organization may receive up to two fellowships. Based on the criteria mentioned above and availability of funds, if you are selected to receive a travel fellowship, you will receive a notification from the organizers before Feb 28, 2017.

There are several affordable hotel options in around the National Science Foundation, given that the location is right next to the Ballston Metro Station. We recommend that you make your room reservations as soon as possible, if you plan on attending this workshop.

Directions to Hotel

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Hilton Arlington is within close vicinity of DCA, 6 miles (or 10-minute drive) from the DCA airport. The estimated taxi fare (one way) is $21.

Subway / Metro. Take the Orange Line to the Ballston-MU stop. At the top of the escalator walk straight into the Ballston Metro Center complex (20 feet). The hotel lobby is on the left.

Parking. There is on-site self parking. It costs $5 per hour or $20 daily.
